It has reserves, even for large luggage items. Ultimately, generous payload reserves form the basis for outstanding comfort, independence and safety while you are travelling. In addition, clever wheel bases and large storage compartments in the front of the vehicle, combined with the rear scooter garage, ensure a favourable weight distribution between the front and rear axle.
They utilise the maximum axle loads, resulting in safe, confident handling. Intelligent lightweight construction technology reduces the weight of the vehicle, meaning you don’t have to forego anything with regard to payload for your trip. There is room for everything in the huge storage spaces, from clothing for every occasion, to pedelecs. And plenty of room for your souvenirs on the way home, of course.

BALANCED WEIGHT DISTRIBUTION.
Large storage spaces and sufficient payload alone are not enough. Carthago uses wheel bases which are coordinated in a model-specific way. The result is an optimum weight balance between the front and rear axle – the prerequisite for practical use of the storage space.
THE CARTHAGO DOUBLE FLOOR.
Together with the highly stable self-supporting body construction, the innovative double floor contributes to providing a high degree of stability and torsional rigidity, and is extremely lightweight at the same time. A special light AL-KO low frame is used exclusively for the lightweight 3.5 t models. The result: minimal vehicle weight – maximum payload.

The permissible gross vehicle weight is a value defined by the manufacturer which the vehicle must not exceed, even when loaded. It therefore has an influence on the approvable number of seats, the possibilities for selecting special equipment and the remaining additional load capacity.
